We’re pleased to announce that Boston.com , the website of the Boston Globe, is now part of the Zillow API program and is using it to power their recent home sales functionality on their real estate landing page . Though our recent sales data is part of the Local Market Explorer WP Plug-in, Boston.com is the first member of the Zillow API program to build a custom integration utilizing our recent sales data. In each region, transaction data for the 20 most recently sold properties can be retrieved and displayed. For example, here are recent sales transactions in Boston , Brookline , Cambridge , Quincy , Milton , Somerville , Newton , Dedham , Everett , Chelsea , Revere , Hartford, CT , Stamford, CT , and Providence, RI .
For the last couple of months, we have been creating numerous training videos ( here’s the Zillow YouTube channel ) to help answer some of the more frequently asked questions we get from real estate and mortgage professionals. We are excited to announce that we now have a centralized place where all these videos live on Zillow.com. Please check out our new Zillow Video Training center !
We are pleased to unveil a new mortgage center plug-in that creates a mortgage center inside your WordPress blog. Since buyers are looking for mortgage information and many agents and brokers have WordPress blogs, we thought this was the perfect plug-in for us to develop. We launched our first WordPress plug-in ( Local Market Explorer ) in August, and were thrilled with the great customization , feedback , and implementation – including early adopters Jay Thompson and Kris Berg .
We just added a new feature to your Zillow profile — something I’ve affectionately come to call the “Rainy TwinkBook” feature. If you’ve been keeping all those plates spinning at ActiveRain, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, or another blog, you can now link to those places from your Zillow profile. For example, here’s Spencer Rascoff’s profile — he’s our “savoir-faire is everywhere” COO — and he has added links in his profile to his ActiveRain blog, Twitte r feed and LinkedIn profile. And, some of you already have a head start. For more than 13,000 pros who have both Zillow profiles and ActiveRain accounts, we hooked up your Zillow profile to your ActiveRain blog for you automagically (many thanks to Jorgen Hahn at AR for helping us get that done). But, if we weren’t able to match you up, you can add your own links by editing the “Professional information” section of your profile ( Sara Bonert , Zillow’s Director of Broker Services, explains these steps in more detail on ActiveRain )
